Hotel websites in Malta — winning back direct bookings.
Every booking that comes through Booking.com or Expedia costs you 15–25% commission — and the guest relationship along with it. A great hotel website exists to win those bookings back, by making the direct route the obvious one: rooms that look irresistible, live availability and rates, a booking flow that takes seconds, and the local storytelling the OTAs can’t do.
Zero commission on your own site
Your booking engine, embedded beautifully — or a custom one you own. Most engines and channel managers (Cloudbeds, Little Hotelier, SiteMinder and others) integrate so availability and rates stay in sync everywhere. Every direct booking is 15–25% you keep, and a guest email address you can market to next season.
Rooms sold with story, not grids
Photography-first pages for every room and experience, the neighbourhood, the breakfast — the reasons people pick you over an OTA listing that looks like everyone else’s. OTAs are still a discovery channel; the site’s job is converting the guests who Google you after finding you there, with best-rate messaging and a flow that doesn’t frustrate them.
Found before the OTAs
Fast pages, hotel structured data, and content tuned for “boutique hotel Valletta”-style searches. Smaller properties benefit most from all of this — commission hurts more at guesthouse scale, and a lean direct-booking site is a very achievable project.
FAQs
Can the website connect to my channel manager or PMS?
Yes — most booking engines and channel managers can be integrated so availability and rates stay in sync. If you have no system yet, I’ll recommend one that fits your size, or build a custom booking flow.
Will this really reduce my OTA commissions?
It shifts share rather than replacing OTAs. Most independent properties can realistically move a meaningful slice of bookings direct — and every shifted booking is commission saved.
We’re a small guesthouse — is this overkill?
No — smaller properties benefit most. A lean version (rooms, availability, direct booking, reviews) is very achievable.
